What is OpenStreetMap
Openstreetmap, or OSM for short, is a collaborative project, which means almost anybody can add comments and material for the creation of this system. Its mail goal is to create a free editable map of each neighborhood, each city, each town… and eventually the whole world!
The way this system enables every user to collaborate in the creation of it is known as crowdsource’, and is available to users from anywhere in the world by the Open Database License. These terms allow people to add up comments, contents and useful data to improve and/or expand maps, creating a digital exact version of each part of the map updated with the current events. This would include street names changing, new roads being build, new interesting points to visit, and more!

How to use Openstreetmap
Using this system is quite easy, actually. Just click on the link provided below to visit their website, and start navigating through any map from all over the world!
In the top-left corner you’ll find a search box. Type in the street and number, or the city, or whatever you want to search on the map, and click to make the system work for you. You can also find the quickest and or safest road in between two points (or addresses in the map), and even choose your transport preferences, including by foot, bicycle, car, public transportation, and more.
Using Openstreetmap is totally free, and you are welcome to do so whenever you want to. However, if you are feeling generous, keep in mind though any user can add comments and data to this crowdsourcing projects, there’s a real need for coders, developers, and ‘people in charge’.
